December 16, 2020
It is with deep sadness that the board and staff of Episcopal Relief & Development mourn the passing of our colleague, Joy Pascua. We join Joy’s friends and family in celebrating her life and praying for comfort for her loved ones.
Joy joined Episcopal Relief & Development in March of 2020 as the Web Marketing Manager. She jumped into her role overseeing and shaping the organization’s web presence, making an important and lasting impact on her colleagues in just a short time. Joy’s creativity and commitment to Episcopal Relief & Development’s mission were evident in everything she did. She was a valued member of the Marketing &Communications team.
“Any death is a tragedy. The sudden death of a young and vibrant woman of prodigious talents is a loss to which one cannot easily reconcile,” said Rob Radtke, President & CEO, Episcopal Relief & Development. “Her passing is a great loss to the organization.”
Joy passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 12. She leaves behind her partner, a daughter and a large extended family.
A public viewing and service will be held Saturday, December 19 in Tarrytown, NY. More information about the service is available here. In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family with funeral expenses can be made here.
“Joy had an inherent zest for life. She truly brought ‘joy’ to our team and passion to her work,” said Malaika Kamunawire, Vice President, Marketing & Communications, Episcopal Relief & Development. “She will be greatly missed by all of us.”
O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our sister Joy.
We thank you for giving her to us, her friends and colleagues,
To know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage.
In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn.
Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life,
So that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call,
We are reunited with those who have gone before;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
