Episcopal Relief & Development Partners with Church Publishing to Produce 2012 Calendar

September 7, 2011

Episcopal Relief & Development has teamed up with Church Publishing Incorporated (CPI) to produce a 12-month calendar featuring engaging, full-color images of the organization’s programs worldwide. Calendars are $12 each, and may be purchased through CPI’s website (www.churchpublishing.org) or over the phone through Cokesbury’s customer service center (1.800.672.1789). A portion of sales for the new calendar will benefit Episcopal Relief & Development’s global efforts to alleviate hunger, create economic opportunities, promote health, and respond to disaster.

“At Episcopal Relief & Development, we are always striving to find new ways to communicate the impact of the work we support,” said Rob Radtke, President of Episcopal Relief & Development. “This new partnership with Church Publishing has produced a piece that I think beautifully illustrates the global reach of our ministry and the broad spectrum of activities our partners are carrying out. Each of the images included in the calendar is a powerful reminder of the promise Episcopalians make in our Baptismal Covenant, to ‘seek and serve Christ in all persons.’ I am grateful to Church Publishing for creating this opportunity.”

“We’re honored not only to produce the Episcopal Relief & Development 2012 Calendar through our Morehouse Church Supplies division, but also to promote it to our customers worldwide, in service to the Church,” added CPI’s Davis Perkins, publisher.

Episcopal Relief & Development works with over 3 million people annually, through local partners in approximately 40 countries. The calendar depicts a wide range of the organization’s community-based activities, from post-earthquake recovery work in Haiti and beekeeping in Kenya, to crop production in the Philippines and health care in Afghanistan. The agency connects Episcopalians in the US with churches and communities around the globe, helping them to walk alongside its partners and support local initiatives, in line with the organization’s stated mission of “healing a hurting world.”

The new calendar is available now through the Cokesbury toll-free customer service center at 1.800.672.1789, or via the CPI website at www.churchpublishing.org (search for Episcopal Relief & Development calendar). It also can be ordered through any Cokesbury Christian store, any member store of the Episcopal Booksellers Association, or any place where Christian products are sold.
