In areas rebuilding after Sri Lanka’s long civil war, the Diocese of Colombo is creating Savings with Education groups. These groups equip women with leadership skills and financial tools to build stability and plan for the future.

Customized education models cover home finance, conflict resolution and leadership, helping women strengthen their families and communities.

We partner with the Diocese of Colombo on a comprehensive disaster management and preparedness strategy. Local leaders and clergy are trained to create community-based disaster plans that reduce risk and build long-term resilience.

With the National Christian Council of Sri Lanka (NCCSL), we’re expanding this successful approach to more communities. Together, we also support clean water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs, tree planting and environmental restoration projects.

When flash floods struck five districts in 2024, the Diocese of Colombo with NCCSL’s Regional Disaster Management Committees quickly provided cash grants to affected households. They also helped clean flood-damaged shared walls and restore safe water access.

Our Results in 2023

4,406 individuals directly reached by long-term development programs
