October Web Feature Highlights Friends in New York
October 18, 2012
This month’s Friends of Episcopal Relief & Development celebrates the success of the Calvary’s Ark project, launched by Calvary Episcopal Church of Williamsville, NY, in fall 2011. Families, individuals and parish groups – including the congregation’s three youth groups – donated funds to purchase an “ark” full of animals from Episcopal Relief & Development’s Gifts for Life catalog. A plywood ark, decorated by members of the congregation, helped keep the momentum going through the project’s conclusion in May 2012. By the end, Calvary had raised funds to supply animals and agricultural training to dozens of families in communities where Episcopal Relief & Development is active.
